Mansplaining Guide: Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at womenrule@mansplainer101.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Despite the name, this isn't a guide for women. It's a satirical field manual documenting the exhausting reality of explaining basic human decency to grown adults who somehow missed the fundamentals. Respect. Honesty. Boundaries. Accountability. Empathy. Concepts so painfully simple they shouldn't require a seminar—yet here we are. If you've ever wondered why common courtesy feels revolutionary in 2026, welcome. Class is in session.

Because, much like the "Do Not Drink" warning on a bottle of bleach, experience has taught us never to assume the obvious. If basic concepts like "No means no," "Respect boundaries," and "Take responsibility for your own behavior" were universally understood, this website wouldn't need to exist.

Unfortunately... here we are.

Traditionally, it’s when a man explains something—often incorrectly—to someone who already knows it better. Here, we’ve flipped the script: we explain extremely obvious things to men, just in case.

Not at all. Many do. This is for the rest—plus anyone who enjoys a refresher delivered with a side of humor and mild existential reflection.

Only if you see yourself in it… which might be worth thinking about.

Groundbreaking concepts such as:

  • Listening without interrupting
  • Accepting “no” as a complete sentence
  • Realizing that “calm down” has never once calmed anyone down
  • Understanding that women are, in fact, people

If you’ve ever said “I hear you” while mentally composing your rebuttal, then yes—you might benefit from the advanced module.

Because studies (conducted entirely by us) show that humor is 73% more effective than yelling into the void.

No. It’s pro-awareness, pro-growth, and pro-not-making-every-conversation-about-yourself.

Congratulations! You may proceed to the advanced level: “Actually Applying It Consistently.”

Reading it? No.
Understanding it? Maybe.
Applying it? Now we’re getting somewhere.

Sure:
Don’t be rude.
Don’t assume you know everything.
Treat people with respect.
Pause before speaking.
And if in doubt—just don’t say the thing you were about to say.

Absolutely. Just be prepared for them to say, “I don’t need this,” which is often how you know they do.

A world where this website becomes unnecessary.
We’re not holding our breath—but we remain cautiously optimistic.

Yes: If multiple people are telling you the same thing, it might not be a conspiracy. It might be feedback.
